Security and two-factor

Trusted devices and signing out

Trust a browser for 30 days when you sign in with a code, see and remove trusted devices in Settings, Security, and sign out of this browser.

With two-factor authentication on, you can let a browser you use often skip the code step for a while.

Trust a browser

When you sign in with a code, tick Trust this device for 30 days. For the next 30 days, that browser asks only for your password. Only do this on a computer you control.

See and remove trusted devices

Open Settings, then the Security tab, and find Trusted devices. Each one shows the device, its network address, when it was last used and until when it is trusted.

  • Remove on a device makes it ask for a code again at its next sign-in. Do this for a browser you no longer use or a device you lost.
  • Remove all makes every browser ask for a code again.

Sign out

Log out in the account menu ends the session of the browser you are using. Your other browsers stay signed in.

If you think someone else signed in

  1. Change your password at once. This also ends the connections of AI assistants allowed before the change.
  2. Remove all trusted devices.
  3. Turn on two-factor authentication if it is not on yet.

If you cannot sign in any more, see I can't sign in.
