Social Inbox
Set up the Social Inbox
Which accounts the Social Inbox supports, how to create an inbox, how new comments and messages arrive and who can see each account's conversations.
The Social Inbox brings comments, replies, mentions, visitor posts and direct messages into one place. It is part of the Standard, Premium and Ultimate plans and the trial.
Supported accounts
- Facebook Pages: comments, replies, visitor posts, mentions and Messenger messages.
- Instagram business and creator accounts, through either login: comments, replies and direct messages. Mentions need the Meta Business Suite connection.
- LinkedIn Pages: comments, replies and mentions. LinkedIn has no messaging API for Pages, so there are no LinkedIn direct messages.
Other networks publish only and have no inbox.
Create an inbox
- Open Inbox in the sidebar and choose Add Inbox.
- Give it a name, and optionally an emoji, then pick the accounts.
- Save.
An inbox groups the accounts you want to answer together, for example all accounts of one client. One account can be in several inboxes.
How messages arrive
Facebook and Instagram send new items to SocialApp as they happen. Every account in an inbox is also checked on a schedule: Meta accounts every 30 minutes and LinkedIn Pages every 15 minutes. Refresh fetches an account again at once.
When you add an account, its last 30 days come in, already marked as read. The open list checks for changes every 15 seconds.
Who sees what
A person sees the conversations of the accounts they have inbox access to, set per account in Users. Owners, Admins and Managers create, edit and delete inboxes. Deleting an inbox deletes the conversations of accounts that are in no other inbox.
