Team, clients and approvals
Approve posts before they are published
How posts reach Pending Approval and Pending Client Approval, how to approve, send back and resend, and what happens when the scheduled time has passed.
Approvals make sure nothing is published before the right person has seen it. A post waiting for approval has no publish job, so it cannot go out by accident.
When a post needs approval
- A Content Scheduler's post, or a post by anyone with Contributor access, goes to Pending Approval.
- A team post on an account with Client Approval on goes to Pending Client Approval.
- A client's own post is scheduled directly.
Find them in Posts, then Pending Review, filtered by Pending Approval, Pending Client Approval or Pending Correction.
Approve or send back
On a post, or on many selected posts:
- Approve to Publish schedules it. If its time has already passed, it takes the account's next free queue time.
- Send for Client Review passes it on to the account's client approvers.
- Sendback returns it for correction, with a comment if you like.
- After correcting, the author uses Send for Approval.
Who can approve? on a post lists the people who can. Owners, Admins and Managers with Manage access approve team posts; client approvers approve client reviews.
Editing approved posts
When a Content Scheduler edits or moves an approved post, it goes back to Pending Approval. Posts waiting for a client cannot be edited until the client answers.
Notifications
Approvers are told in the bell and, depending on their settings, by e-mail and Slack. Authors hear when their post is approved or sent back.
