Troubleshooting

A post failed or did not go out

Read why a post is in Error or Unscheduled, what each publishing message means, which errors are retried, and how to share the post again.

Last updated 2 min read

When a post cannot be published, it moves to Error or Unscheduled in Manage Posts with the reason. Depending on your notification settings, you are also told in the bell, by e-mail or in Slack.

Error

The network refused the post, or could not be reached. Common reasons:

  • The account needs to be reconnected. Reconnect it in Manage Accounts, then share the post again.
  • Insufficient Permission. The sign-in did not grant permission to post for this Page. Reconnect and allow every permission.
  • The network is limiting posts from this account. Wait until the limit resets, then share again.
  • The network rejected this post, with the network's own reason. Edit the post to fix it.
  • A media file is too large, not accepted or no longer exists. Replace the file.
  • We could not confirm whether this post was published. Check the account on the network before you share it again, so it is not posted twice.

Temporary problems, such as a network that did not answer, are retried automatically up to five times before the post lands in Error. A post is never sent twice.

Unscheduled

The time passed while the account or the whole workspace was paused, or while the workspace was locked. Nothing went wrong with the post itself.

Share it again

From the row's menu: Share Now, Add To Queue, Share Next or a new date. The post is checked against the network's rules again first. Select several posts to put them back in the queue at once.
