Schedule posts in bulk from a CSV file
Prepare a CSV file without a header row, the six columns and their order, the date formats that work, and the row limits of each plan.
On this page
Bulk Import turns a CSV file into scheduled posts. Open Posts, then Bulk Import, and choose Schedule in Bulk. Bulk Import comes with Premium and Ultimate.
Start from the sample
Download the sample file from the Bulk Import page. It already has your account IDs and dates in your own date format, so you only replace the content.
The columns
The file has no header row: every line is a post. The columns are, in this order:
- The post description (the caption).
- Media URLs, separated by
;. A video as the first URL makes a video post with that video only; otherwise up to 35 images. - The date and time.
- The account ID: the ID column of Manage Accounts. Rows without a valid ID ask for accounts in the last step.
- The first comment, sent to Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Tags, separated by
;, up to 10. New names become tags when the import runs.
A row needs a description or media; empty rows are skipped.
Dates
Formats such as MM-DD-YYYY, DD-MM-YYYY, YYYY-MM-DD, DD-MMM-YYYY and MMM DD, YYYY work, with / too, followed by a 24-hour time or a 12-hour time like 2:30 PM. Times are read in your own time zone. A row with no date, or a date that cannot be read, goes on the account's next free queue time.
Limits
Up to 500 rows a file, or 100 during the trial. Extra rows are left out and the page says how many. The file can be up to 25 MB.
