Library, bulk import and feeds

Share new articles automatically with RSS feeds

Add an RSS or Atom feed, choose how often it is read and how many new items are shared, pick accounts, hashtags and UTM tracking, and pause auto sharing.

Last updated 2 min read

An RSS feed turns new articles on a website into posts. Open Content, then Feeds, and choose Add Feed.

Add a feed

  1. Enter the Feed Name and the Feed URL. The address must be an RSS 2.0, RSS 1.0 or Atom feed; SocialApp reads it once to check.
  2. Check Feed frequency every: from every 15 minutes to every 24 hours.
  3. Select number of posts to read: how many new items, one to five, are shared each time the feed is read.
  4. Select Post type: Article posts the link with its preview card; Image posts the item's image with its title and link.
  5. Add the accounts. TikTok and YouTube cannot take feed posts, and one X profile can be added.
  6. Optionally add hashtags (Append Hashtag), a UTM set and, when your accounts have a shortener, tick Disable under URL Shortening to keep links long.

What gets shared

Adding a feed does not post anything: the first read only records what is already there. From then on, each read shares the newest new items, up to your number, to the next free queue time of every account. Further new items wait in Feed Content. Two of your hashtags are added to X and Facebook posts.

Posts are created as the person who added the feed, so a Content Scheduler's feed posts go to approval.

Pause and edit

Switch Auto Sharing off in the feed list to stop sharing; the feed is still read and its items wait in Feed Content. Owners and Admins edit and delete feeds.

Limits and problems

Essentials can add 5 feeds, Standard 10, Premium 15 and Ultimate 20. If a feed cannot be read three times in a row, the bell tells its author and the admins.
