Add and manage locations in Reviews

Add a location by hand, with Google autofill or from a connected Business Profile or Facebook Page, fill in its details and find locations with tags and filters.

A location is one place of business: a shop, an office or a branch. Its details are the record that listings sync sends to Google Business Profile and Facebook, so keep them complete.

Add a location

Open Locations > Manage Locations and choose Add Location. There are three ways in.

Add manually. Fill in the form yourself. Autofill with Google can fill it for you: Standard Search takes keywords such as the business name and city, Advanced Search takes the name and address. Check the details before saving. Autofill uses Google's place search and needs a Google Places API key set by the operator of your SocialApp installation; without it, autofill says it is not configured. Each person can search 30 times a minute.

Import from SocialApp, Google Business Profile. Pick a Business Profile location connected in SocialApp that you can reach there, or one connected for Reviews. Its details fill the form, and once you save, it is connected as the location's review platform.

Import from SocialApp, Facebook. The same for a Facebook Page.

Connect New signs in to Google or Facebook for Reviews only: the profile does not count on your SocialApp plan, SocialApp never posts to it, and it works while SocialApp is locked. Pick the profiles or Pages the sign-in found, and the import list then offers them. A profile or Page already used by another location shows Connection Exists; the location is still created, and you can connect another profile later.

An import writes the phone number in international format with the country's code. When the country is not known, the number comes as it was and the form asks you to correct it.

Location Details

Fields marked with * are mandatory:

  • Business Name (2 to 40 characters, no emojis) and Phone Number in international format, starting with + and the country code, for example +1-234-567-890. The Alternative Phone takes the same format. A number saved earlier without the country code shows an error the next time you edit the location.
  • Street Address, City, State/Region, ZIP/Post Code and Country.
  • Map Location: latitude and longitude.
  • Primary Category. A Google category ID is optional, but listings sync only categories that have one.

Optional: Nickname, Alternative Phone, Email, Website, up to 9 additional categories, a Description of 10 to 500 characters, Services with a price, Hours for each day with Special Hours and Temporarily Closed, Payment methods, Media (a cover image, a profile image and up to 20 photos; PNG, JPEG or WEBP up to 5 MB each), Social Media links and Tags.

Nickname and Location ID

Several locations can share a business name, as franchises do. The nickname tells them apart and is unique in the brand. Left empty, it is the business name, then "Name 2", "Name 3" and so on. Every location also gets a permanent Location ID number. Search the list by name, nickname, city or ID; the ID is found with or without separators, such as 10002 or 10,002.

Tags and filters

Filter the list by Tags and by Connected platforms. Tags are created in Setup > Tags and can also be added to contacts and reviews. The menu of each location opens Location Details, Manage Publishers and Manage Platforms.

How many locations

The page shows Locations used against your plan: 1 on Starter, 3 on Pro and during the trial. When every location of your Reviews plan is in use, Add Location is off, and a notice says so before you fill in the form. The account owner can open View Reviews plans (Setup > Subscription); others are asked to contact the account owner.

A brand can also have its own Location Limit. When a Manager or a client reaches it, Add Location is off for them, with a notice that the owner or an Admin can raise it in Setup > Brands. After a move to a smaller plan, locations beyond it are marked Locked: readable, not usable, never deleted.

When a client adds or deletes a location, the account owner and the Reviews Admins get an e-mail.

Delete a location

Delete Location also deletes its review platforms, reviews, campaigns, widgets, QR codes and listing data. Contacts stay in the brand. This cannot be undone.
