Connect Google Business Profile and Facebook for reviews

Collect and answer a location's reviews from its Business Profile or Facebook Page, connected for Reviews only, and what each card state means.

Reviews collects and answers reviews from two platforms: Google Business Profile and Facebook Pages. Both are read and answered through their official APIs.

Before you start

  • Connect offers the Business Profile locations and Facebook Pages connected in SocialApp that you can reach there, and the ones connected for Reviews. The owner and Admins see every profile connected for Reviews; others see the ones they connected or that their locations use.
  • Connect New and Reconnect Account sign in to Google or Facebook for Reviews only. A profile connected this way does not count on your SocialApp plan, SocialApp never posts to it, and it works while SocialApp is locked.
  • Google lets apps use Business Profile only after it approves them, and Meta reviews apps before they can read Pages. Until the operator of your SocialApp installation has both, these accounts cannot be connected. See Connect Google Business Profile locations and Connect Facebook Pages.

Connect a platform

  1. Choose the location in the picker at the top.
  2. Open Reputation > Review Platforms.
  3. Under Connections, choose Connect on Google Business Profile or Facebook.
  4. Pick the profile or Page. Tick Opt-in for listings to also keep its listing in sync.
  5. Confirm.

If the profile is not in the list, choose Connect New and sign in to Google or Facebook. Reviews then lists the profiles or Pages that sign-in found: pick them, and you come back to the list with them offered.

A Business Profile location or Facebook Page can belong to only one location, in any workspace. One that is already used shows Connection Exists.

How reviews arrive

The first check brings in up to 1,000 of the latest reviews, without alerts and without automatic replies. After that, each platform is checked every 30 minutes. Refresh on the card checks at once (up to 6 times a minute per person).

When new reviews arrive, the account owner, the Reviews Admins and the members who can reach the location get a notification in the bell.

Facebook reviews are recommendations: Recommends or Does Not Recommend. When Meta does not share the reviewer's name, the review shows Customer.

Card states

  • Connected: reviews are collected. The card shows the number of reviews, the average and when it was last checked.
  • Reconnection Required: the network refused the sign-in. Choose Reconnect Account and sign in again; the profile is saved at once and its reviews are collected again.
  • Page Reviews Disabled: reviews are turned off on the Facebook Page. Turn them on in Facebook.

When a check fails for another reason, Reviews tries again later, waiting longer each time.

Disconnect

Disconnect stops collecting, removes the platform's reviews from Reviews and takes it off Listing Publishers. An account connected in SocialApp stays connected there. A profile connected for Reviews only is removed from Reviews with it (also when its location or brand is deleted); connect it again with Connect New to use it later.
