Connect an X profile
Connect an X profile, how long posts can be with and without a paid X subscription, and why a post can include only one X account.
X profiles connect with an X sign-in. The profile is saved as soon as you finish signing in.
Connect the profile
- Open Accounts, then Connect Account.
- On the X card, choose Connect Profile.
- Sign in to X and authorize the app.
The option shows Not configured until the operator of your SocialApp installation has added the X app keys.
Post length
X counts characters its own way: links count as 23 characters and some characters count double. The composer counts the same way.
- Standard accounts: up to 280 characters.
- Accounts with any paid X subscription: up to 25,000 characters. SocialApp reads the subscription when you connect and at every refresh.
One X account per post
X refuses the same post on several accounts, so a post and a group can include only one X account. Use separate posts, or Copy To, to post to another X account.
What you can post
Text, a link, up to 4 images, a GIF or a video, and a subtitle file for videos. Published posts can be deleted from X. The X analytics page shows followers and tweet engagement; X keeps no follower history, so the history in SocialApp starts on the day you connect.
