Create posts

Add images, videos and documents

Upload images, GIFs, videos, PDFs and slides to a post, resume a broken upload, add alt text, thumbnails and subtitles, and reuse recent uploads.

Last updated 2 min read

Drag files onto the media area of Create Post, or choose to upload from your device. Uploads run in the background while you keep writing.

What you can upload

  • Images: JPG, PNG, WEBP and GIF.
  • Videos: MP4, MOV and WEBM, up to 1 GB.
  • Documents: PDF, Word and PowerPoint, up to 100 MB, for LinkedIn document posts.

The file type is checked from its content, not its name. Each network accepts less than these upload limits in some cases; the composer shows the limit in Needs Attention before you schedule.

Large files and lost connections

Files are uploaded in parts of 8 MB. If the connection drops, choose Retry upload and the upload continues where it stopped. Cancel upload stops it.

Recently Uploaded

Recently Uploaded lists the files you uploaded before, newest first, so you can add them to another post without uploading again.

Alt text, titles and thumbnails

  • ALT on an image adds alt text for the networks that publish it.
  • A video can have a Title, used by Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube.
  • Change Thumbnail picks a frame of the video (Video Frames) or a picture you upload (Custom). Not every network supports both; the panel lists the ones that do.
  • Add Subtitle attaches an SRT file and its language for X, Facebook, LinkedIn Pages and YouTube.

Remove media

Remove one file with its menu, or every file with Remove all media. Removed files stay in Recently Uploaded.
