Personalise posts with custom fields

Save a value per account, such as a phone number or address, and use a {{key}} token in one caption to publish each account's own value.

Custom fields let one caption carry different details for each account. For example, a chain of shops can post one offer with each shop's own phone number. Custom fields come with the Premium and Ultimate plans.

Create a field

  1. Open Setup, then Custom Fields.
  2. Add a field with a key, using letters and digits only, such as phone.
  3. Add a value for each account, such as the phone number of that shop.

Each account has one value per field. Values can be up to 1,000 characters, and a workspace can have up to 500 fields.

Use a field in a caption

In Create Post, choose Custom Fields in the caption tools and pick the field. The caption gets a token such as {{phone}}.

When the post is published, each account gets its own value in place of the token. The final text of every account can be checked before you schedule.

  • An account with no value for the field gets nothing in that place, and the composer warns you before you schedule.
  • A token whose key does not exist stays in the text as you typed it.

Who can manage fields

Owners and Admins add, rename and delete fields and their values. Managers and Content Schedulers can see them and use them in posts.

Deleting an account deletes its values. After a downgrade below Premium, existing fields stay but cannot be changed.
