Customize a post for each network

Write one original caption, then change the text, media or link for one network only. Learn how network tabs follow the original until you edit them.

Last updated 2 min read

When you select accounts of two or more networks, the Customize switch above the caption becomes available. With it on, a tab appears for every network next to Original.

How the tabs work

  • Original is the base post: its caption, media and link go to every network.
  • A network tab shows the original until you change something on that tab. From then on that network keeps its own version.
  • Editing the original later still updates every network tab you have not edited.

This way you can write the post once and only adjust what one network needs, for example a shorter text for X or a different image for Pinterest.

What you can change per network

  • The caption.
  • The media: add, remove or reorder images and videos for one network.
  • The link preview.
  • The options card of that network, such as the post type, the first comment or the title.

Each tab shows how many errors it has, so you can see at a glance which network still needs work.

Turn Customize off

Turning Customize off asks for confirmation, because the network versions are dropped. The caption of the tab you are on becomes the caption for every network.

Counting characters

Every network counts its own way. Most count characters as you see them, so an emoji or a flag counts as one. X weighs links and some characters differently, TikTok counts in its own units and YouTube descriptions are also limited to 5,000 bytes. The counter on each tab uses the network's own rule.
