Drafts and autosave

How Create Post saves your work to Drafts as you type, how to give a draft a planned date, reopen it, schedule it, and who else can see your drafts.

Create Post saves your work to Drafts while you write. The top of the composer shows Saving... and then Saved to Drafts. If you lose the connection, it says so and saves again when you are back online.

A draft needs a caption or at least one media file; an empty post is not saved.

Find and reopen drafts

Open Posts, then Drafts. The list shows the newest drafts first and can be filtered like the other post lists. Open a draft to continue in Create Post.

Give a draft a planned date

Schedule Draft saves the post as a draft with a date and time. Dated drafts appear on the calendar, so the team can see what is planned before it is ready. A dated draft is not published until someone schedules it.

To change or remove the planned date, open the draft's menu in the Drafts list.

Schedule a draft

Open the draft and use Schedule Post, Share Now or the queue actions as with any post. The draft is replaced by the scheduled post in the same step.

If a draft has a planned date and you add it to the queue instead, SocialApp asks whether to discard the draft date and use the account's queue time.

Who sees your drafts

By default every team member can see and edit every draft. An Owner or Admin can switch the workspace to private drafts, so each draft exists only for the person who wrote it. See draft sharing.

Move a post back to drafts

In Manage Posts, Move to Draft turns a scheduled, failed or unscheduled post back into a draft, keeping its account, content, date and tags.
