Mentions, mention groups, hashtags and emojis

Mention a profile on each network from one caption with mention groups, search profiles while you write, add saved hashtag sets and pick emojis.

Last updated 2 min read

The caption tools above the caption add mentions, hashtags and emojis. Mentions and hashtags stay as you write them in the original caption and are turned into each network's own format when the post is published.

Mention groups

A person or brand usually has a different handle on every network. A mention group keeps them together under one name.

  1. Open Setup, then Mention Groups, and choose to add a group.
  2. Give the group a name and fill in the handle for each network you use: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, Threads and Bluesky. Rows appear for the networks your workspace has accounts on.
  3. Save. In a caption, Add Mention lists your Mention Groups.

When the post is published, each network gets its own mention from the group. A network without a handle in the group gets the group's name as plain text.

Search while you write

Add Mention can also search one network's profiles. Bluesky search works without any setup. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X searches work once the operator has added those networks' app keys; X and Instagram also accept a username you type. TikTok and Threads take typed usernames only.

Hashtags

Add Hashtag opens the hashtag sets saved in your content libraries and adds the one you pick to the caption. The button appears when you have access to the Content Library.

Emojis

Add Emojis opens the emoji picker. Emojis count as one character on most networks.

Content Schedulers can create and edit mention groups; deleting a group is for Owners and Admins.
