Shorten links with Bitly, Rebrandly or Sniply

Connect a link shortener, choose the default and a domain, set a shortener per account and turn link shortening on for a post.

SocialApp can shorten the links in your posts with your own Bitly, Rebrandly or Sniply account. Each shortener shows Not configured until the operator of your SocialApp installation has added its app keys.

Connect a shortener

  1. Open Setup, then URL Shortening.
  2. Choose the shortener and sign in to it in the window that opens.
  3. Pick the domain to use. Sniply asks for a call to action instead, and creates links in that call to action's campaign.

The first shortener you connect becomes the workspace default. You can make another one the default, or remove the default, at any time.

A shortener per account

A social account can use its own shortener instead of the default. Set it under Edit Account, in Shortener, or for many accounts at once: in Accounts, tick the accounts and choose Connect Shortener, then pick a shortener (or None to remove it) and Apply. Only the Owner and Admins set shorteners.

Shorten the links of a post

In Create Post, choose Turn On Link Shortener in the caption tools. When the post is published, each account's links are shortened with that account's shortener, or the default. Pinterest links are never shortened, because Pinterest treats short links as spam, and TikTok has no link switch.

If a shortener fails or needs a new sign-in at that moment, the post is still published, with the full link.

Who can manage shorteners

Owners and Admins connect and disconnect shorteners and set defaults. Everyone can turn shortening on in their own posts. Disconnecting a shortener removes it from the accounts that used it.
